The Laboratroy of Regenrative theraphy is focused on the study of the molecular mechanisms involved in the degeneration of the dopaminergic substantia nigra cells and particularly we are interested in the study of the role of different proteins like alpha-syncuclein and LRRK2. Other research area of our laboratory is dedicated to the study of the mechanisms implicated in the control of adult neurogenesis and its modification in neurogenerative diseases such as Parkinson disease. Finally, we are also interested in the development of new therapies for the treatment of Parkinson disease and specifically in the role of gene therapy as tool for intracerebral trophic factors delivery suchs as GDNF .
